Steve Rock, Executive Director
Steve
Rock brings a strong business background as well as a passion for
music and music education to the Community Conservatory of Music.
Prior to coming to the Conservatory, Steve worked in the corporate
world as business manager for the PQ Corporation in Valley Forge,
PA. He successfully managed operational and strategic planning,
budgeting, marketing, organization and office administration for
PQ for over thirteen years. He also spent a four year assignment
in Amsterdam, The Netherlands as European business manager and manager
of research and market development.
Steve currently is a member of the Bucks County Choral Society
and the George School Community Chorus. He recently sang at
the Berkshire Choral Festival under the direction of the notable
composer and conductor John Rutter.
He also comes to CCM with experience from a number of nonprofit
organizations. He is chairman of the Bucks County Choral Society’s
Marketing Committee and is an active member of the Goal Committee
for Building Self Sufficiency at the United Way of Southeastern
Pennsylvania. He has also volunteered as a tutor for reading
for the blind and as a board member of the Human Growth Center,
where he was active in fundraising.
Steve holds a BS in chemistry from Kansas State University, Manhattan,
KS and a PhD in physical chemistry from the University of Illinois,
Champaign-Urbana, IL.
As a resident of Doylestown, Steve has a vested interest in seeing
that CCM remains a cultural treasure benefiting all Bucks County
residents.
