Adriana Linares, MM - Temple University

     Adriana Linares, a violist from Caracas, Venezuela, has taken first prize in the Latin American Music Competition in Indiana, the Solo Viola Competition at Indiana University, and the Kuttner String Quartet Competition. She also received her Bachelor’s Degree in Viola Performance from Indiana University where she studied with maestro Atar Arad. Adriana was a recipient of the Annual Musician Award from the Bloomington Camerata, and the Starling and Barbera Music Scholarship Foundations. Ms. Linares has performed solo with the Indiana University Symphony Orchestra, The Virtuossi de Caracas, The Middletown Symphony, and the Illinois Philharmonic.                                                                                    As a chamber musician, Linares has toured extensively throughout the USA, Canada, Puerto Rico and her native country Venezuela. She recently finished a Master’s Degree in Viola Performance from Temple University with acclaimed violist Roberto Díaz (Principal viola Philadelphia Orchestra and Curtis Institute Faculty).                                                                             Ms. Linares has been a member of the faculty at the Yellow Barn Chamber Music Festival, the Festival Nuevo Mundo in Maracaibo, Venezuela and the University of Louisville Chamber Music Program, and she recently has joined the faculty at Kutztown University, Moravian College, and the Community Conservatory in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. In addition, she serves as the principal violist with the Philadelphia Virtuosi, and performs with the Dalí String Quartet, Satori Chamber Players, the Harrisburg Symphony, and the Lehigh Valley Chamber Orchestra.
